Therapy for Neurodivergent Teens in Texas

For adolescents (13+) with ADHD or autism — and the parents/caregivers trying to support them. Virtual across Texas. No insurance needed. Free 15-minute consultation.

Not sure if your teen has ADHD and/or autism ? That’s okay. You don’t need a diagnosis to start therapy.

Neurodivergent teens are often working harder than anyone around them realizes. School systems aren't built for how their brains work. Social navigation is exhausting. And "just try harder" — from teachers, coaches, sometimes even therapists — is advice that lands like a brick.

This is therapy for adolescents with ADHD and/or autism who need real tools, not more pressure. And it's also a space for parents who are trying to figure out how to help — and what "helping" actually looks like for a kid whose brain may work differently than their own.

Your teen doesn't need a formal diagnosis to start therapy. If you want that clarity, assessment is available too.

What Neurodivergent-Affirming Teen Therapy Looks Like

For Teens: Tools That Actually Fit

Executive function, emotional regulation, identity work, self-advocacy — we build a toolkit around how your teen's brain works, while valuing and prioritizing their unique flavor of neurodivergence. School pressure, social navigation, figuring out who they are — all of it is fair game. The goal isn't compliance. It's building skills your teen can actually use.

For Parents: Understanding and Strategy

It's hard to support someone when you're not sure what's driving the behavior you're seeing — or why the things that worked for other kids don't seem to work here. Parent consultation is part of the work. We figure out what your teen actually needs, what kinds of support tend to help versus backfire, and how to stay connected through the hard parts.

Navigating Accommodations and Other Supports

IEPs, 504 plans, disclosure decisions, advocating with teachers and administrators — navigating school systems with a neurodivergent teen is its own skill set. Whether you're just starting the process or trying to get more out of supports that aren't working, we can tackle this together.

Meet Your Therapist

Matt Jackson, LPA

“I'm a Licensed Psychological Associate in Texas, and I have ADHD. I was also a neurodivergent teen — which means I have a pretty clear memory of what it feels like to be told you're not trying hard enough when you're already giving everything you have (or what it’s like for school to feel boring because of the pace of the classes or assignments that feel pointless).

I built this practice for neurodivergent adults and adolescents because I wanted to offer something that's harder to find than it should be: a therapist who already understands what you're navigating before you walk in. That goes for teens, and it goes for the parents in the room too. Raising a neurodivergent kid when the world keeps handing you advice that doesn't quite fit is its own kind of exhausting.

My work with teens focuses on building real skills — the kind that actually stick because they're built around how their brain works, not around what's easiest to teach. I'm practical, I don't talk down to teens, and I'm not going to spend sessions asking them to mask better.

I'm licensed in Texas and see adults and adolescents (13+) virtually across the state. I also provide formal assessments for teens and young adults who want clarity on diagnosis.”
